Museum of the Future
About the Museum of the Future
The Museum of the Future is one of the world’s most iconic and visually striking landmarks, rising 77 metres above Sheikh Zayed Road in the heart of Dubai. Opened on 22 February 2022, it was inaugurated by HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum — the vision and driving force behind its creation. The museum is an initiative of the Dubai Future Foundation, established in 2016 to institutionalise future-shaping for the UAE.
Unlike any museum you’ve visited before, this is not a place that preserves the past — it designs the future. Its torus-shaped, pillarless structure is clad in stainless steel and 1,024 glass panels, wrapped in flowing Arabic calligraphy from Sheikh Mohammed’s poetry. The façade reads: “The future belongs to those who can imagine it, design it, and execute it.”
Designed by architect Shaun Killa of Killa Design, the building was named one of the 14 most beautiful museums in the world by National Geographic. Inside, each floor is a meticulously crafted film set from a believable future — built by a team of world-leading product, media, and experience designers.
What is Inside the Museum of the Future?
The museum has 7 floors, of which 5 are open to visitors as immersive chapters. Each floor is a completely different world — a different story of what life could look like in 2071 and beyond.

Museum of the Future Reviews
The Museum of the Future is genuinely the most impressive attraction I’ve ever visited — and I’ve been to museums all over the world. The OSS Hope floor is breathtaking. You really feel like you’re in space. My kids loved Future Heroes and didn’t want to leave. Easily worth AED 149. Book in the morning for a quieter experience.
The building alone is worth the trip. I spent 20 minutes just standing outside photographing the calligraphy. Inside, Tomorrow Today on the second floor blew my mind — you can see actual prototypes of flying taxis and AI surgical robots. This is the future that Dubai is building. Incredible vision made real.
We came for the architecture and stayed for the experience. The Heal Institute floor with the digital Amazon forest is surreal — you can hear the rain, see the canopy lights, and actually feel like you’re in a rainforest. My husband said it was the highlight of our entire Dubai trip. A must-visit with no question.
Stunning building and great concept. The VR and immersive elements are top tier. My one small gripe is that some exhibits could use more depth for those who want to go beyond the visual experience. That said — the architecture, the café, the Future Heroes zone, and the overall production quality make this a 4.5/5 easily. Book early — sells out fast.
Took my two kids and they were absolutely captivated throughout. The Future Heroes floor is brilliantly designed — the kids were collaborating with strangers to complete missions within minutes. Even the café was fun with its “future food” menu. We spent 4 hours and still felt we could have stayed longer. A rare gem in Dubai.
Coming from Italy, I expected another touristy attraction. What I got was one of the most profound museum experiences of my life. Al Waha on the third floor — the wellness and spirituality zone — genuinely moved me. It’s meditative, beautiful, and deeply human despite being about technology. The Robodog in the lobby is charming too!
We visited in the evening — the building glows gold at night and looks absolutely magical from the outside. Inside, we went floor by floor and ended at the café for charcoal brownies and future-themed drinks. A perfect date night in Dubai. The museum is worth every dirham of the AED 149 ticket price. Unforgettable.
As someone who works in AI, I was curious whether it would be superficial. It’s not. The Tomorrow Today floor has actual working technology — not just mock-ups. The DNA preservation concept in the Heal Institute is genuinely moving. And the architecture is extraordinary. No columns, 77 metres tall, wrapped in Arabic calligraphy. Sheikh Mohammed’s vision is remarkable.
The Museum of the Future is Dubai’s best attraction in my opinion — and I visited Burj Khalifa, Dubai Frame, and the Desert Safari. The only thing I’d flag is to go early. We visited at 3 PM on a weekend and it was quite busy. The experience was still incredible but some floors felt rushed because of the crowds. Morning visits are clearly the way to go.
Photographically, this is the most rewarding attraction in Dubai. Every floor is a different colour palette, every corridor a different aesthetic. The exterior calligraphy at golden hour is particularly stunning. The museum is also fantastically accessible — Emirates Towers Metro station connects via bridge, no car needed. A masterpiece in every sense of the word.
